The centre

Rugby School, founded in 1567, stands in the picturesque town of Rugby, in the centre of England. It is one of the oldest boarding schools in the country, rich in history and famously the birthplace of the sport that bears its name. Many well-known figures studied or taught here, from Pierre de Coubertin to Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, and Thomas Hughes, who attended from 1834 to 1842. Rugby lies in Warwickshire, not far from Birmingham, Coventry, Warwick and Oxford; London is an hour and a half away by train.

The language course

After a placement test, needed to determine the right class, the 30 hours of English lessons begin, enriched by afternoon and evening activities. At the end of the course students receive a Summer School attendance certificate, valid for school credit purposes.

Accommodation

Single, twin or triple rooms with the bathroom outside the room. Single en-suite rooms are subject to availability for entire groups. Full board at the college's renowned dining hall, with a packed lunch for full-day excursions.
