The centre

Our New York Residential Summer Center is set on the safe and attractive campus of the University of Mount Saint Vincent, in Riverdale. Riverdale is green and quiet, yet only 30 minutes by train from Grand Central Station and the bustle of New York City; JFK, La Guardia and Newark airports are all less than an hour away by bus or taxi. The programme is designed for teenagers who want to really experience the city.

The language course

30 hours of lessons in total, usually in the morning. After a placement test, needed to determine the right class, classroom lessons begin, enriched by afternoon and evening activities. At the end of the course students receive a Summer School attendance certificate, valid for school credit purposes. The centre hosts two programmes: Young Learners, for students aged 12 to 17, and Discover, aged 16 to 25 and more independent.

Accommodation

Residential accommodation on campus, generally in comfortable double rooms, with modern shared bathrooms and common areas on every floor. Unless requested otherwise, the university mixes accommodation by age and nationality, so students meet friends from different countries and are encouraged to speak English. Full board at the college dining hall, with a packed lunch or dinner out on full-day excursions. The Discover programme is half board instead: breakfast and lunch in the dining hall, dinner free.
